The goal of this module is to provide basic information about applying Sample Handling and Preparation and its importance in a pharmaceutical analytical testing laboratory.
Learning Objectives 1003SP-LO01: Identify the important principles and concepts for Sample Handling and Preparation (SHP) of the following formulations: 1003SP-LO02: Define relevant SHP terms. 1003SP-LO03: Given an SHP-related problem, identify its potential impact and probable cause. 1003SP-LO04: Identify the importance of SHP in the pharmaceutical industry with respect to obtaining representative and homogeneous samples for laboratory analysis. 1003SP-LO05: Given techniques, identify the specific apparatus and supplies (e.g., filters) used and select the proper method(s) to prepare samples. 1003SP-LO06: Given a type of formulation, identify the most appropriate technique to prepare its sample for analysis. 1003SP-LO07: Given a list of sample preparation techniques, identify the steps, sub-steps, and other relevant considerations (e.g., which technique is applied to a given situation) to properly perform each. 1003SP-LO08: Identify the proper techniques used to prepare solutions. 1003SP-LO09: Identify examples of GMP requirements and expectations related to SHP. 1003SP-LO10: Given a list of possible questions asked by a novice regarding SHP, identify the most appropriate answers to enhance performance. 1003SP-LO11: Identify the typical information provided on a sample's label. 1003SP-LO12: Identify specific safety precautions for handling and using samples, solvents, and gases to prevent injuries to people and damage to equipment. |
