Food Safety and Food Hygiene is a major public issue.
The United States Food and Drug Administration, (FDA) states that 76 million illnesses, 325 hospitalizations and 5,000 deaths are annually attributed to Food borne illnesses. Since 2001, food safety programs must be based on sound science and address food safety issues. Food training is a requirement to prevent violation of the food safety regulations. This learning program is written to meet the standards of the National 2005 Food Code. It is carefully written and illustrated and provides voice-over to enable students to understand the sometimes complex learning specified by the code. It has six lessons, an end test and certification on satisfactory completion of the test. |
